MEETING PHILIPP PLEIN

How many times do we have the opportunity to meet an international fashion designer? I’m sure that you already know that the possibilities are very limited, so you will understand that I couldn’t miss the opportunity to meet this great creative during the opening of his new store in Madrid.

Philipp Plein is a German fashion designer who has already triumphed in catwalks as Milan or New York. Famous for its groundbreaking designs, in which no limitation is found, it shows us a much more daring vision of fashion than we usually see. As he says: “Fashion for people who are fashion“.

During this interview, I had the opportunity to meet Plein in a much more personal way. Something that surprised me was the way in which he expresses how music and fashion always go hand in hand: “Fashion always follows music, and not the other way around. When you work in fashion you want to know what people are listening to, because that is the trend. Music is culture. ”

Exploring a little more in his personal vision of the current fashion, his opinion on how we adapt our way of feeling to our habitual style of dress was so enriching: “We should never say that fashion is crazy. Fashion is you, it’s me and all the possibilities to express our feelings. ” An opinion that, I’m sure, all fashion lovers share with him.

In addition, he told me how he created these incredible shows that surprised the audience: “When I create a show, I feel like a child and I like to play, but I play with big toys”. Just as a child doesn’t put limits on his imagination playing, Plein doesn’t put them at the time of creation.

I can’t be more grateful to have been able to know a little bit closer to this designer with whom I feel so identified in many ideas. We hope to have you son again in Madrid!

And for you, what do you like most about the interview?

I send you a hug,
